Miss Chels

We also had Chels' pictures taken at the same time as my Maternity Session. I admit I'm a bad mommy and haven't had her pictures taken since her 2nd birthday, oops! I was worried, to say the least, about her session because she HATES having her picture taken. Whenever I get out the camera she either runs away screaming or she simply covers her eyes, ugh!!! But Kayla made it fun and she let us get some good shots. This is one of my favs. Hop over to Kayla's blog so see a few more shots and some cute collages she made up.
In other Chels news, my baby girl is no longer a baby, although I will continue to call her baby girl. Her Grandma Davies bought her some Leapfrog DVDs that teach letter sounds and she is now trying to read everything she can get her hands on. I did not encourage this at all. I'm not one of those moms who wanted to teach my 3 year old how to read but what am I supposed to do? It reminds of when she had just turned 2 and she wanted to potty train, I didn't really want to do it that soon but I'm not about to tell her no. So I've been helping her and cheering her on. We are in the process of making flash cards with simple words on the front and the picture of the word on the back. She sounds out every single word she sees on TV or the computer or in books or anywhere. I just cannot believe how fast she has caught on! She also asks me what everything says (which gets sort of annoying) but I try to be patient and read every road sign and cereal box to her. Since her birthday is in September she still has a good 2 years until she can start kindergarten. I think she's going to start getting bored at home, I'm hoping these 2 years go by fast....but not really.
Here is a link to the DVD that she has been watching, I think. Ours is a burned copy so I don't know exactly what the cover looks like. I just thought I'd post it if anyone else wants to buy it.
