Jacob's Piggy

Our lives have been uber crazy the last couple weeks. Jacob now has class on Tues. and Thurs. nights. It's been hard getting used to him having college again. While we were in Germany it was normal for him to be gone to class every night after work but since we've been in CA he has taken some time off. Mainly because he already has his degree he was working towards so we are now just waiting to get out of the Air Force so he can get into his program. He's taking the one last class he needs to earn his AF Assoc. Degree that is available in his job (CCAF). So this is the last thing he needs to do before we get out, kind of crazy!

Jacob also got put into the Young Men's presidency at church so he is gone on Wednesday nights for the activities. I, of course, don't mind this though because I am the perfect Mormon wife! It really is a fun calling for him.

On Fridays Jacob has been going hunting with a friend from work. They hunt for wild boars and last week they finally snagged one. He was so proud! He ordered a big gun to kill the boar with but it was stolen from the UPS warehouse so his friend shot this first one. It weighed in at about 100 lbs after it had been cleaned. His friend took it to the butcher to get it cut up for meat. I'm actually excited for when they go and get another one because the next one will be ours and we'll have lots of meat! Between the pork that we get from the boar and the beef my parent's brought to us from Idaho all we will have to buy is chicken. I'm so stoked to practically cut meat out of our grocery bill!

Here is the boar after they got her.
Here it is being weighed in. I felt kind of bad for the poor thing but after I watched a news special on wild boars in America I don't feel bad anymore. There is getting to be so many of them that they are becoming a nuisance. They actually tear up farmer's fields and eat the produce. So if we can get meat from them, we might as well "get" them right?
