2nd Trimester, HALLELUJAH!

Just a cute picture I took of Chels last night.

I know the first trimester drags by for anyone who has ever been pregnant. And it has for me too. It seems like Dec. 29 was about a year ago! (that's the day I got my positive pregnancy test) But, thankfully, today is my first official day of my second trimester. I have a Dr. appt. on Thursday where I will hopefully schedule my Nuchal Translucency test (which is basically just a really detailed ultrasound to measure the neck to determine the liklihood the baby has downs syndrome or not). Since I'm assuming I won't be able to get an appt. with the ultrasound tech for a week or two from Thursday I will be 15-16 weeks when I have this test done and my hope is they will be able to make a guess on the gender! I am so glad I wasn't alive 50 years ago having babies because just the 4-5 months of waiting to find out kills me!

I don't have any belly pictures to show yet. Sorry. I honestly don't think my belly has grown yet at all. I feel like I'm bigger but I haven't gained any weight and my stomach is still measuring the exact same. So I'm still waiting for that day when I wake up and I have a cute little belly staring back at me! It took me a long time to show with Chels' pregnancy too. But once I started showing I was HUGE!

I have been thinking about the upcoming arrival of our new baby and it's kind of been scaring me! I can now totally understand why people choose to have their babies close together. It's weird to think I'll be changing diapers again when I haven't changed a diaper for well over a year now. I'll be getting up in the middle of the night again, and feeding the baby whether through a bottle or nursing. It's just weird for me to think we'll be starting all over again. Chels is so independent now and we'll be going back to the first when a helpless little baby will be totally dependent on me. I think I'm more scared to have a newborn this time then I was when I was pregnancy with Chels, because now I know all it intells. But I couldn't be more happy. I am so excited for the new baby to come. I'll just have to brush off my newborn parenting skills once again!

OMG! I cannot believe you are already in your 2nd trimester! It seems like you just announced your pregnancy! That's so exciting! And I'm sure Chelsea will be a great help as a new big sister! So she can help change a diaper or two! haha
